Ilya is a game director/designer currently working at Q-Games in Kyoto, Japan.

Originally from Russia, he graduated from Moscow State Social University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems.

Ilya entered professional game development in 2009 in the role of QA. Three years later, working in Innova Systems, he accomplished his first task as a professional game designer: creating an extensive plan to adapt a MOBA called Bloodline Champions to the Russian market and presented it to the project owners at Funcom and Stunlock Studios.

In 2013, Ilya joined Nexters where he shipped a title called Throne Rush working as a sole game designer on the team. The game became Nexters’ most successful project to date and won Facebook staff favorite game award in 2014.

Ilya joined Glu Mobile in 2014 and, a year later, shipped a mobile game set in James Bond universe called World of Espionage.

In March 2016, Ilya left Glu Mobile in his quest for Japan, moving to Kyoto and entering a Japanese language school at Kyoto Computer Gakuin university. Even before graduating, Ilya was able to start working part-time at Q-Games, switching to full-time in September 2016.
